This is PAGE 5. I had so much to say that I did not cover all of the items that I wanted to yet. I used a lot of space with my Printer Buffer article and the FCC phone modem deregulation. Both of these articles should be covered by the ADAM community as well as other computer club news.

This is from AIM (see page 2 ADAM'S HOUSE) $20 year. We hear from lots of people beside ADAM owners. The people capable of producing HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE tell us that the rest of us are far too quiet! Even when many project protypes have been made and information has been requested concerning your interest in these devices, very few of you have responded to the query.

To say the least, many products have never been produced because de-
velopers have been DISCOURAGED by the little interest generated. While the hard work has been completed in many projects, production using circuit board assembly never occurred because faith did not exist that 100 units would be sold to pay for production costs!

FLASHCARD FIX: ....We know of one set of Flash Facts with almost 1200 questions on DISK about music theory. Up until now, however, 320K & 720K disks proved of no advantage since the program would bomb if you tried to expand the directory name space at the beginning of the disk! The secret to moving the FlashCard program is in the boot block. You need to tell ADAM the new location of the program. If you wish to increase the directory from 1 BLOCK in size to 4 BLOCKS, only two bytes of code in BLOCK 0 need be changed.

The FLASHCARD program will begin at BLOCK 5. It might be noted here that all the Coleco Flash Fact names can be put in two directory blocks, using slightly over 480 blocks -- leaving 238 blocks of space for your own & other creations.

Below are 2 charts created using File Manager, the program that can easily make the edit changes & copy the FLASHCARD program from your datapack. The first chart shows the location of byte 18 and 49 are underlined with the respective values of 02 and 07. The 07 value is the Load block. The second chart shows those locations changed to 05 and OA (HEX for 10). If you wish a 12 block directory, the values would be OE and 13. (Decimal - 14 and 19).

NOTE: It is well worth mentioning that I sent ADAM'S HOUSE my disk drive in for repair and had it back fixed in about 8 days. It cost me $50 plus shipping but Terry Fowler found that I also had trouble with the formating of disks. He is very thorough and helped me alot over the telephone solve a few extra problems. For one thing my 256K card was not seated firmly in my ADAM.

This is also from the Saint Louis AUG. As you all know, The Computer Shopper has stopped carrying the ADAM articles. BUT a new computer magazine called the Vulcan's Computer Buyer's Guide has published its first issue and contains Fay Deere's ADAMCON 01 article. Further Vulcan's Computer Buyer's Guide has agreed to continue to run ADAM articles on a trial basis. They have a SPECIAL USER GROUP DISCOUNT PRICE IF YOU SUBSCRIBE AT THIS TIME AND INCLUDE THE NAME OF YOUR USER GROUP (the newsletter you read this in/on can be used as the User Group name, the PRICE is ONLY $ 8.95 FOR ONE YEAR.
